Good player, May 18, 2011 By This review is from: Toshiba BDX2200 Wifi-Ready Blu-ray Disc Player (Electronics) I purchase this unit from local computer store for $69. I read reviews on the net, but the price was cheap enough, so I decide to risk.
As soon as I turned the unit on, it wanted to update the firmware. No issue there. Took about 4 minutes and restarted.
I then played Youtube. Amazing.. Look much better than my computer output. Given that this unit has no internal memory, it started to lag after a minute into the youtube music video. I added 4GB thumbdrive and played again. No lag. plyed full 1080p youtube HD video wihtout any jerky frame. I then played multiple HD Youtube and no problem. Smooth and picture quality was excellent.
Then I played 2 DVDs and 3 Blurays. No problem at all. Maybe I read too much review, but felt little lag on movie loading time.
Next day I tried Youtube again, but noticed lag and slow frame rate. It turn out my cable was having issue. I reset my modem (could not even get to some web sites), and this... Read more

Worked for two days, April 8, 2011 This review is from: Toshiba BDX2200 Wifi-Ready Blu-ray Disc Player (Electronics) Maybe it was just my particular player but after two days the unit stopped working properly. The first day everything worked perfectly, including the internet hookups to watch Netflix. I hooked it up with HDMI cables and watched both Tron Blu-Ray movies with no problems. The next day when selecting an episode from Netflix the video went out, but the sound was still there. I turned off and on the player and it worked fine for about six hours. Problem continued on the second day with several episodes of audio but no video. Turning off/on the player didn't work this time. Finally the video went out entirely and I wasn't able to get it back. I changed the hookups from HDMI to component thinking that might have been the problem, but the problem continued. Today before I returned it from where I bought it I tried it with component cables again and for whatever reason the video worked this time. However now the power button doesn't work on the unit. 7 of 9 people found the following review helpful Not satisfied:, April 22, 2011 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Toshiba BDX2200 Wifi-Ready Blu-ray Disc Player (Electronics) I bought this player and I gonna see if I can send it back, it locks up, I don't know if its the Toshiba WLM-10UB1 Wireless Adapter that I have plugged into it or, if it is the player itself. Its great to just watch blu-ray movies on, it loads within seconds but, don't buy this if you want to use it for streaming movies.
Note:
I found the problem to most of it. I was using a Belkin Router, I switched to a Netgear N Router, and it works real good now, notice I did not say great because about every other time I turn it on I have to unplug it from power then plug it in again because for some reason it will boot up a black screen.
