Bad Buy, At Any Price, November 18, 2009 By This review is from: Memorex Electronics Blu-ray Disc Player MVBD2520 (Electronics) Just recently bought two of these units at under $100 a piece. The player is very slow to load and will not let you eject a disc until it has loaded. I have had problems with brand new DVD's in the player being very loud! It sounds like a fan is working very hard while playing the disc, and the only way around the noise is to drowned it out by turning the volume up very loud. Other older DVD's I have that play just fine on other DVD players in my house skip constantly on this unit. The only upside I have seen so far is that the picture is very nice, and BD's seem to play fine without the player skipping or being as loud.
If I had to do it all over again I would spend the extra money to get a unit that is more highly rated.

I have nothing good to say about this player. There are too many annoyances with this player that it's unacceptable for a 2009 model release. Can't believe this thing has an MSRP of $200. I know most people can get it much cheaper but even at $100-$150, it's a piece of junk.
Cons:
- the disk drive motor is super loud and makes the whole player vibrate; if you try to watch a movie at low volume, forget about it, you will be hearing the noise of the player more
- when playing several regular DVD, the movie constantly skipped and cause the sound to drop out
- if you power the unit on and try to remove a disk, forget about it because the player won't let you; it will have to first begin playing before you can eject it
- when you open the setup menu, the display output to the TV cuts in and out like its swiching video output on and off
- the remote control looks nice but actually... Read more

When the unit is playing it has a loud fan noise and vibration that are a total distraction while trying to watch a movie. I was hoping to see some other reviews here to know if I just got a lemon or if this is a design flaw. Even a low price doesn't make this a good deal if the noise is always there.
