Good player, when it works., August 20, 2011 By Blind Mellow Jelly "-BMJ" (Detroit, Rock City.) - See all my reviews This review is from: Panasonic DMP-BD755 Blu-ray Disc Player (Electronics) When viewing Toy Story 3, this player performed flawlessly: brilliant colors, great sound and decent user interface.
However, this player is connected to my Toshiba LCD TV via HDMI, and digital connectivity is where it falls flat:
* Using a hardwired ethernet connection locks the player and also crashes my router. I've tried this with 3 different routers, with the same result. When watching Netflix, the player usually works just fine, but the connection interferes with other hardwired connections. I have a rock solid connection with a PC AND Mac that are connected to the same router as the Panasonic DMP-BD755. As soon as I plug the player into the router, both the PC and the Mac lose their ethernet connectivity. A few minutes after I disconnect the DMP-BD755, network access returns. At first, I thought my router failed, but after watching this happen with 2 brand new replacement router models, I realized that it was the blu-ray player that was causing the... Read more
