Poor video and audio quality, March 1, 2012 By Bryan (NM USA) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Acesonic BDK-2000 Blu-Ray Disc Multimedia Karaoke Player (Electronics) I mainly bought the Acesonic BDK-2000 for the Blu Ray player and the built in media player . As a Blu Ray player , the BDK2000 is terrible . About thirty seconds after it powers up , a fine white snow is visible in the picture . This is most notable on the dark player menu and any dark scenes in movies . The audio also has problems . The player produces an audio crackle every few minutes no matter what you are doing/watching , it evens happens when the player sits powered on but idle . I tried changing HDMI cables and player settings but nothing helped . Firmware is the latest .
As a media player it is functional but buggy . The user interface is easy to use . It boasts a plethora of compatible formats and when tested , did play everything that I threw at it from a pocket HDD . It did randomly refuse to play some files for no apparent reason . I had to return to the main menu to reboot the media player after almost every video that I successfully played so it's a slow... Read more
